Many businesses require office space in order to function. Whether it’s a leased area or the business owns it, office space is crucial for employees to do their job.
When allocating office space to workers, it’s important to allocate for planned growth. This means planning what areas the office can ‘grow’ into. As a business gets bigger so does the number of employees working in the office, and each of them will each need a workstation. This can be done by making headcount projections for the expected term the business will be leasing the office, then allocate space so that the occupancy limit is reached about 2/3 of the way through the lease.
It’s important not to forget about office space. It can be all too easy to get sucked into what the business is going through, forgetting that the staff who carry out the business need somewhere to do it.
